Cultural characteristics and peculiarities around Castelrotto
Culturally, the Sciliar area has a lot to offer. There are a variety of widely scattered chapels, castles and ruins, the visiting of which can all be easily connected with a short hike.
Both of the two small local museums have been here since ancient times.
The Farmers' Museum in “Tschötscherhof” in Sant’Osvaldo sheds light on traditions and history of ancient craft, while school life of olden times is illustrated in the school museum.
Anyone interested in the colourful and traditional Castelrotto costume should enter the following dates into their diary: the Castelrotto peasant wedding in winter, the Corpus Christi procession as well as the procession to St. Peter and Paul in honour of the church patrons of Castelrotto church in early summer, and finally Thanksgiving in autumn.
